Big In Malta!

The band are set to be honoured by the music industry of Malta later this month.

In the Carlsberg Malta Music Awards 2003 - nominations were announced this weekend - U2 will be honoured for their 'commitment to help the plight and cause of others' and 'using their music to raise awareness of global issues.'

'For their determination in putting words into action,' add the organisers, 'We are proud to present U2 with this special award.'

Hard at work in the recording studio, the band will be unable to attend the awards.
