'Idol Gives Back' returns to US screens tonight. Bono takes part in a piece filmed recently in Kenya.

Last year funds from the 'American Idol' spin-off were channelled to health, water and education programmes in Africa as well as supporting disadvantaged children in the US through medical care and literacy projects.

Tonight's special is set to raise funds to benefit six charities including: the Children's Defense Fund, The Global Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More, Save The Children, U.S. Programs and the Children's Health Fund.
