U2 In American Music Award Nominations

U2 have been nominated for best 'Band, Duo, or Group' in the American Music Awards, which are presented in January.


U2 face competition from the Dave Matthews Band and 'N Sync.

Alicia Keys, 20-year-old hip-hop star, leads nominations for the Awards while others in the running for different prizes include Lenny Kravitz, R. Kelly, Shaggy and Nelly Furtado.

Winners are determined by a national survey of about 20,000 Americans, who choose from a list of top acts compiled from retail sales and radio airplay data.
