U2 Sweep Board In Rolling Stone Poll

10 Jan 2002
Rolling Stone Readers have voted U2 across the board success in the Annual Readers Poll.

In the latest edition of the magazine, Rolling Stone readers have made U2 'Artist of the Year', voted U2 'Best Band' and judged All That You Can't Leave Behind 'Best Album'.

Bono also won the popular vote for 'Best Male Performer' while Elevation 2001 was voted 'Best Tour' and U2 'Best Rock Act'.

Beautiful Day and Walk On made second and third in the Best Single category, while Elevation and Beautiful Day made second and third in the Best Video category.

And Rolling Stone readers are evidently not out of step with the writers of the magazine - in the special vote that takes place amongst the magazine's own writers, U2 again scored highly. The band won Best Band, Best Tour and Best Male Performer while Stuck In A Moment ranked third most popular Single amongst Rolling Stone critics and U2 were second in the Artist of the Year category.

(Oh, and Rolling Stone readers also voted U2 winners of the 'Best Online Fan Site'. Thank you very much !)
